Reimagining the next era of the CADC Award

The Connecticut Art Directors Club is proud to celebrate its 50th Anniversary—half a century of honoring creative excellence across Connecticut. Our legacy is built on the efforts and achievements of our community playing a role in our future. 

Staying true to our roots, we are launching an open Call for Entries to redesign our iconic CADC Award. We’re inviting designers, artists, fabricators, students, and creative thinkers of all backgrounds to help us honor the past and envision the next 50 years of CADC. 

Reimagine the physical CADC award—an enduring symbol of creative achievement. Your design  should pay homage to our legacy while reflecting the evolution and spirit of today’s creative industry. We welcome fresh perspectives, bold ideas, and a wide range of materials and aesthetics. 

Over the years, the CADC Award has taken many forms — from titanium and resin sculptures to  spray cans, cast cement blocks, and even reimagined plumb bobs. Each version has reflected  the creative spirit of its time. Now it’s your turn. What will you contribute to this lineage? How will you help define the future of creative recognition? 

All concepts and materials are welcome — from traditional sculpture to modern fabrication,  from digital to handcrafted approaches. Let your creativity lead!*
 

• Eligibility: Open to all

• Deadline: 11/19/2025

• General size parameter - not to exceed 8”x4”x4”

• Include space for nameplate in the design 

• Open to all materials, but needs to be mass producible/cost-effective 
  (*this will be decided in collaboration with the CADC board, the selected designer,
  and the fabricator.)

• What to Submit: 

  • Visuals: Renderings, sketches, or images of prototypes (in PDF or JPG format) 

  • Short concept statement (250 words max) 

  • Optional: Material samples or links to materials/3D models

Entries will be reviewed by the CADC Board. The winning designer will have the opportunity to work collaboratively with our production partners to bring their vision to life. The new award design will be unveiled at the 50th Annual Award Show in 2026.
