WCSU 2016 Senior Thesis Exhibition

Western Connecticut State University undergraduate candidates this year for the bachelor’s degree in art will present their works in the Senior Thesis Exhibition running from April 20 through May 11, 2016, in the Art Gallery at the Visual and Performing Arts Center on the university’s Westside campus, 43 Lake Ave. Extension in Danbury.

The gallery will be open for viewing from noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday and from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.

The WCSU Department of Art organizes the Senior Thesis Exhibition each spring as a capstone experience for students pursuing the B.A. degree in art in one of five areas of concentration: graphic design, illustration, photography, and studio arts in painting or in sculpture. This year’s exhibition will feature 14 art majors with a concentration in graphic design, eight in illustration, four in photography, and five each in studio arts in painting and studio arts in sculpture. The following 2016 B.A. in Art candidates will show selected works:

  • Graphic Design seniors include: Carolina Bunta, of West Haven; Steven Fleck, of New Fairfield; Robert Fritsche, of Danbury; Nabila Hasan, of Danbury; Kelly Keenan, of Sandy Hook; Erin LaPorte, of Brookfield; Jose Lebron, of Danbury; Ericka McCabe, of Washington Depot; Michael Nejame, of Danbury; Maxine Parsons, of New Milford; Juan Ramirez, of Norwalk, Leah Scrimmager, of Mahopac; Steven Tantalos, of Mahopac; and Jessie Zwiesler, of Ellington.
  • Illustration seniors include: Michelle Achorn, of Danbury; Daniel Bennett, of Bethel; Joel Earley, of Redding; Meghan Fehr, of Bethel; Paige Grant, of Danbury; Jesse Navarra, of Stormville; Andrea Rios, of New Fairfield; and Jonathan Schreyer, of Monroe.
  • Photography seniors include: Paul Alliot, of Brookfield; Amanda Chartier, of Monroe; Ilmie Dovoljani, of Weston; and Emily Read, of Bethel.
  • Studio Arts in Painting seniors include: Alison Booth, of Danbury; Marissa Chappell, of Sandy Hook; Camelia Guerrera, of Watertown; Anneliese Kappel, of Brookfield; and Lina Trang, of New Haven.
  • Studio Arts in Sculpture seniors include: Tara Lynn Kijek, of Stamford; Alexandra Monti, of Poughquag; Rachel Peckham of Bethel; Robert Soto, of Danbury; and Brooke Vietta, of Brookfield.
