For over 35 years, The Music People, Inc. has been a highly respected national business-to-business distributor of musical accessories and pro-audio equipment to music retailers and sound contractors across the country. We were recently named one of the top workplaces in the state of Connecticut.

We are currently seeking a Production Artist with 2 or more years of experience to join our Team. The Production Artist will follow the lead of the Art Director, Product Manager and Project Lead to produce accurate print-ready files with strong attention to detail. Time management with a sense of urgency, with an ability to handle issues in the moment, and completing projects by deadline is expected of the Production Assistant role.

Responsibilities: Pre-Press Responsibilities:

  • Product Packaging Production
  • Print and Web Ad Production
  • Tradeshow Booth Materials Production
  • Marketing Materials Productions
  • Collateral Materials Production
  • Take approved designs through pre-press checklist, prepare them for print and contacting printers

Experience:

  • 2 or more years of experience in print production and pre-press
  • Web Development
  • Studio Photography
  • Basic Videography and editing
  • Social Media Updates
  • Proofreading Skills

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CC (Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator).
  • Fluent on PC/Windows computers.
  • Ability to communicate on projects with individuals inside and outside of the company.
  • On-time, organized, self-sufficient, detail-oriented/accurate and innovative.
  • Creative concept development and graphic design on projects as needed.
  • Open minded with a positive and strong work ethic.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Good time management skills with a sense of urgency and entrepreneurship and the ability to tackle multiple projects and issues in the moment.
  • Capacity to handle and recognize multiple top priorities and complete the tasks necessary to ensure task is completed by deadline.

Education:

BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent required.
