The Junior Web Designer will play a pivotal role in the strategy, conception, and design of key University websites. This person is a vital part of a comprehensive communications team, creating advanced designs for promotional, educational, and informational materials. The ideal candidate’s portfolio demonstrates aptitude for designing across platforms, including for websites, web and mobile applications, email marketing campaigns, advertising campaigns, and strategic communications projects. The right candidate is the type of designer who likes to take initiative and thrives in a collaborative work environment.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in graphic design or related field, or equivalent experience and training; at least five years’ experience in graphic arts or related field; evidence of creative ability as demonstrated by portfolio; knowledge of design and development of email marketing pieces, including testing to ensure deliverability; experience working with JavaScript and/or popular frameworks like jQuery; ability to solve complex technical or design problems; experience with image manipulation and optimization; advanced knowledge of development languages such as HTML5 and CSS, programs such as Photoshop, Fireworks, or other image editing software, user interface design, and web design/development languages and techniques; proficiency in the development of web sites using a Content Management System; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to make decisions and coordinate team members’ work to bring projects to successful completion; ability to balance multiple projects at one time, consult with internal clients, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications: Job history indicating growth and development in the field; familiarity with usability and user experience testing; experience with creating responsive web designs for mobile platforms; experience designing for WordPress; and success in designing for print publications and understanding the importance of integrating online communications.

Candidates selected for an interview may be asked to complete a one-hour electronic production assignment.

This position involves working together with the creative director, account team, and several other (in-house and interspersed) creatives to write, primarily, for a client in the energy and network marketing industry. We're looking for a big thinker who can write good. Wait...we mean, who can write well. Actually, writing well isn't quite good enough. We're looking for someone who can knock our clients and their customers out of their seats simply using the power of imagination and the written (and sometimes spoken) word.

You'll be working with a powerhouse collaborative team to conceptualize and create digital experiences with meaningful impact. And you'll be heavily involved during every step of the process--from the initial brainstorms to the client presentations to the final deliverables--turning a creative brief into a creative masterpiece.

  • 2-6 years agency a copywriter. Obviously, interactive experience is a major plus. Offline experience gets you a few bonus points.

In this position at Worx Branding & Advertising, your duties will include, but are not limited to: designing for all types of creative media – including web, identity, advertising, print, email, direct marketing and broadcast; exercising web usability and best practices; the conceptual development and execution of brand communications programs, creative campaigns and design projects, including counseling internal and client-facing teams; analyzing competitive identities and visual systems; taking brand strategies and creating consistent, compelling creative; working within an account team or independently, taking responsibility to uphold scopes and assignments; managing smaller projects directly with clients; creating fully-realized concepts – including strategic insight, visual concepts, calls-to-action, and copy/content direction; developing "big ideas"; pushing our agency product forward with creative and strategically-sound ideas; leading brainstorming sessions; being a vocal player in all creative discussions; and any other duties that the position may warrant. This also includes responding to and executing any requests from a senior officer as they are detailed.

Required Skills and Experience:

An overall understanding of web production and the capabilities within digital channels, as well as print process and production. Expert use of Photoshop, Illustrator & InDesign a must.
